tuning capacitor rust
A while ago, I remember seeing a Philco 20 cathedral for sale that was DOA. I remember looking inside and seeing the tuning capasitor covered in rust. Just thinking again, would a radio like that be fixable? I dont see how you could possibly fix a problem like that. Just wondering on your thoughts/opinions.

Im sure there is a commercial product available that will work but if you can't find one try ketchup,it does a great job on old pennies.By the way hi neighbor, i live in granite city.

I would think something strong like CLR would work with a good soaking. However if there were any plastic parts they would melt.

rust
Hello i have tryed many things like wd-40 3-in-one oil ect.I found Aero Kroil to work the best tho. It sprays on so i get q-tip wet with it and put on cap! Let it soak a day or to keep it wet.It should free up then clean with toothbrush and spray a good electronics parts cleaner on it. A bit of oil on ends should do it.Be careful not to put to much oil on it! Aero Kroil can be found at Kanolabs. Use google to find it:thmbsp: Hope this helps! See you Afvel
