The average console tv from the mid-fifties is worth, well, about the $5 starting bid on this set. But this is not the average set, thanks to that great cabinet. I don't have any experience with Stromberg-Carlson tv sets but everything else I've seen was built like a tank. This isn't junk.

The worst thing that could be wrong is the picture tube could be bad. I don't think this one would be too tough to find, though. The set will certainly need recapping; could be some other problems but nothing that couldn't be taken care of.

Price? I'm a tightwad-I think $50 would be a good deal for a nice looking set like that. It is worth what you are willing to pay.
