This reminds me of the time a neighbor tossed an RCA console that was a TV set and had, on the side of the TV chassis, an AM radio sub-chassis strapped on the side. It was the standard AA5 tuner design, 6BE6 and 6BA6 converter and IF stage. A length of shielded cable was used to get the IF signal to a diode detector tube section deep inside the TV chassis. Don't remember for sure if there was a record player, think there was. Thus was like 35 years ago when i was a young pup looking to scrounge parts for ham radio transmitters and such... I did salvage the AM tuner section but it disapeared years ago...
