I went to watch this set yesterday only to get a picture that looked like the wire going to the antenna was loose, I messed with that for a while only to get less and less contrast, then a blank raster and sound and eventually a blank raster and no sound.
I pulled the chassis today and it turned out the problem was caused by a burnt out resistor supplying power to the 1st IF stage, it's woking again now. Picture of the new resistor below.
But strangely, the radio stopped working at the same time, now I have to look at that, I get TV sound and sound out of the phonograph, so the amp and preamp stuff must be good, and I get no sound out of both AM and FM, so that narrows it down a bit.
