It looks like government surplus to me. You know the look I mean? Like something you might have seen in grade school or something. Perhaps the military. At first sight it reminded me of the phonographs that we had in school. Very durable stuff. Even now I know a guy who sells used electronics at the flea market and I used to laugh at him for buying the old record players in bulk from school board autions. It seems he has no trouble at all getting rid of them at a considerable profit. I guess certain people are aware of their bullet proof nature.
There could be something to my idea. After all this set was playing at the moment of discovery. Perhaps restored? I bet not. I bet it is one of those working originals that still pop up here and there. I have posted a few times about several working originals that I have and to me they are something extra special. Just the thought of a 50 year old piece of electronics still doing its job with only routine maintenance is mind blowing.
Anyone else have any working originals?
