Got an 830 today
Got a ge mod#830 at the convention. I took a chance, got it for $20. pulled the rectifier tube, and lit it up. no abnormal noise/smoke/smell from the power trans, so, after about a minute, i put the 5u4 back in. Lo and behold, I HAD A RASTER! Not too good, short on vertical, but enough to tell me that the 12kp4 is good, as is the fly, and other things.
The cabinet is a bit rough, but hey, I could get a LOT more that that from the crt alone(though i do NOT think I will sell it, i have wanted a cold chassis ge table model bw like the 810/830, for a while now. ) Plus all of the knobs were there, too!
