I tried swapping tubes, shaking them in their sockets, etc, when the set was running and couldn't get any problems to reoccur.
If the problem was another mica cap going bad when it heated up, I fixed it because I changed all of them.
If it was a resistor going bad when it heated up, it could still be in there, I only changed the ones that tested a bit off with the ohm meter. But then I couldn't get the problem to reoccur even after it was on for a few hours.
The horiz hold conrtol itself was acting a bit strange if I shook it, and I replaced that, it may have been the cause of the problems.
The horiz in this set has always been a bit strange in that it will momentarily loose horiz sync whenever I change the channel, but once it's on a particular channel, sync isn't weak at all, it stays even when I turn the hold control all the way from one end to the other.
