I don't remember if "The Bickersons" was just a radio show or if it was on TV as well.

I'm too young to know this stuff. I caught it on the retro-rebound thanks to early cable stations like WTBS, WGN and WVTV (out of Milwaukee) playing the old shows.

Personally, my crowd got their yuks from Monty Python courtesy of the local PBS affiliate. I also enjoyed stuff like Morcambe & Wise, Alas Smith & Jones and my fave, The Two Ronnies.

As for classic comedy programming, I once watched an episode of "That Was The Week That Was" but it was a little too thick for me.

If anybody here ever goes to Manhattan, visit the Broadcast Museum and you can watch tapes from their gigantic collection. I watched a Muppet show, Dick Cavett (with Stan Freberg) and TWTWTW.
