Nice haul!
I did the same thing back about 20 years ago; cleaned out a long-since-retired RCA technician's cellar. The deal: All his test equipment--including several magnificent Tek scopes--I could take, proveded I cleaned out all the television sets as well.
The mean age of the sets was a lot later than in the cache you encountered. There were numerous roundie color sets, and a lot of portables and table models.
And--unbeknownst to the aging tech, who for years hadn't been well enough to go down into his cellar--the whole lot had been flooded. You could see the high water mark--well above everything that mattered. Except for a (IRRC) B&K "flying spot" video test pattern generator the rest was a loss. I still have the Tek scopes, and may try to get one of them working some day when I feel so ambitious.
