Yes, they're nicely built, with a separate tuner section with RF amp for the Shortwave bands arranged around a switch rather than the turret tuner arrangement. VHF tuner is separate too and appears to have an RF stage. Lots of coil cores and trimmer caps to twiddle so I would strongly advise not going there unless you have a sig gen, counter and alignment instructions although the coils are well labelled. Most of the IF/det/af section is pretty standard stuff. And yes there is a car kit but I have'nt seen one. It's circuit is shown in the main schematic. Mine has an open cct signal strength meter which led me astray while restoring, as the AFC needs meter continuity to work properly! Big speaker helps good sound.
