I have just joined the forum after reading your interesting posts for some time. I grew up outside Toronto near the AM740 transmitter at Hornby Ontario.

The transmitter used to be the flagship Canadian Broadcasting Corporation network station CBL which went on the air on 740 I believe at the end of 1936 when the CBC was formed. The CBC in its strange wisdom decided to vacate the AM band nationally in 1998 and CHWO was the successful bidder for the station.

I am now in southern Illinois and I can get a pretty good signal here...
