That band on the old cap is, as I recall, simply an indicator of which end is the outside foil. This was only significant when using caps in sensitive circuit locations, like RF filters, where you would always connect the outside foil to the lowest potential - e.g. ground.

I wouldn't worry about any of this in your application - these are not electrolytics and do not have a voltage polarity.
