Drat! Now my curiosity has been ignited. That photo was cribbed from
www.radioblvd.com. Been reading an article there about the restoration of a DD-1 at the Western Historic Radio Museum. One photo is of a DD-1 console version being worked on, and a cropped version of that photo was used in the CL ad. The QSLs in the background match! Still...I wonder if the ad was for a real, junker DD-1? An answer to that question is now lost in the mists of cyberspace.
