The two rocker buttons at the bottom of the set control motor drive direction, and the set can be individually tuned by motor on AM and FM bands, or by the remote control, of course.........so any 2 stations can be left in tune at any one time---on the outer edges, once pressed, a green lamp illuminates, and the motor will drive the tuning quickly to the next station, then a click is heard, and the tuning control "rocks" gently from side to side to tune the station correctly. If you press the inner edges of the left or right rocker buttons, the motor drive is slow, and will only stop at the WEAKER stations. This is for both AM and VHF. You can cancel the automatic system at any time, by pressing the selector button. The tuning control reverts to manual. All the buttons light up, so you can see what you are doing at night with the light off. The speakers, chassis, motors, everything are made by SABA themselves, and are of super quality, as is the gearbox and tuning mechanisms. This set is not for the faint-hearted!! The chassis is chromed, and the valves are all seated in ceramic holders. Glad you like it!! ianj
That is so AWESOME! I really wish I could find one now! Looks like I better start hitting the radio meets in my area. That tuner is the coolest I've heard of on a radio. Could I please see the beautiful chromed chassis?? What did these cost new?
