Hallicrafters also got into the TV business after the war. They hung in there longer than National did, even making a few 15" color sets as prototypes. Apparently, the profit margins in the superheated TV business of the late '40s were paper thin, And National threw in the towel. They just didn't have the resources to realistically compete w/mighty RCA.-Sandy G.
