i see and hear that all the time.they watch antique roadshow and think they just found the worlds rarest item.i once got a call about a coke machine from the 60s.nice unit, didn t work.just needs freon.owner wanted 5000.00.nice looking piece but 5000.00?she sent me a series of e mails after i declined.her friend,(who is a realtor)told her that it is a rare and unusual item.i always want my realtor to price my antiques.the price dropped several times and i think she finally sold it for 75.00.btw,freon is expensive.that unit would have cost somewhere in the 2-300.00 range to have filled.if there was a leak or a compressor?more money than it is worth.stromberg carleson is a top of line item but that price? 50.00 max!!!!!
