Before I got into fixing radios, I failed to scoop up the contents of an old desk in a carriage house - every drawer was filled with old caps & resistors (and other small parts) from the 20's through the 40's. Back then, my uncle's grandfather & father ran a radio shop out of there before moving to a storefront around 1950 or so. I did save all the old meters I found, and some radio & appliance trade magazines from 1945-47. I had no idea anyone would want those old caps & resistors. The house was sold five years ago, and I have no idea if the new owner cleaned out the carriage house.
