Correct! As to the fridge question, at least Sears had the good sense not to market a Coldspot iron....
When I was growing up, in the 70s, both sets of grandparents had 21" GE consoles from the 50s sitting in their basements and both worked great. I was fortunate enough to inherit one of them, and its chassis is identical to the Hotpoint set in the auction. There's actually two speakers in it. The one that's visible is 6 x 12" and a bit of twinlead slips under it to connect to a smaller speaker underneath--hence the "co-axial" emblem. But my other grandparents TV, which could have been from the same model year (or close) but didn't have a remote control tuner, did have that humongous oval speaker, though I don't recall if it was quite as wide as the screen (which isn't 21" wide anyway).
