Update, finally got this set recapped. Just in time as I gave it to my mom for mothers day. She was admiring my radios over the holidays and asked if I could hook her up. I got to enjoy it a couple of days first. I like this set a LOT! Very fine performer. The midrange and highs are just fantastic. The bass control is currently unresponsive so that needs to be troubleshot. It is wide open so there is plenty of bass (better than none for sure). Seems to be related to the three switches on the front right. When you engage those the bass treble lights go out indicating they override the controls. Something is not disengaging so the bass control makes no change to the sound. Treble works fine. Bass switch tests ok so thats good. Anyway the set did not dissappoint and was well worth the wait. Will be looking forward to visiting mom from now on
