My FIRST radio I got when I was in the 4th grade, 1960! Cost 8 books of Plaid Stamps! Still plays fine. Even has the carry case. Yours looks prettier than mine though. Interesting that the tuning dial is reversed. Must have gone through some revisions.
To power it, I took an old #266 battery and hollowed it out to accomodate a standard 9V battery.
