I know someone with a set like that, I helped them get it. Good God are those heavy. Very cool sets though and man, the goodies inside will keep you busy for a long while when restoring it.
I have a Sentinel set from 1953, I should check to see if there is any mention of a remote on the tags or chassis. Probably not but worth a look.
