Motorola wired point to point well into the 60's when everyone else was using boards for everything. Motorola Quasar is when they lost their magic, along with most others in the outsourcing 70s that led to the demise of all the great companies and to the crap we have today but that is another topic.

I never knew that Motorola had a deal with Drexel Furniture. I have lots of Drexel furniture, including my master bedroom from 1959. You're right that the quality is excellent. 50 years and every drawer slides like new, the hardware is solid brass and the workmanship is amazing. I'm wondering what the Drexel cabinets for Motorola looked like? During what years did they have this deal?
