It wasn't a safety issue... I just didn't have any desire to save the set in that shape. And I know what you mean about pulling sets out of tough places. I got an RCA 9TW333 out of the attic of an old, abandoned textile mill in the Skid Row district of downtown Los Angeles.



As for the pots, I'll start saving those. I hadn't thought about it, but I do always save Zenith convergence boards for the coils (almost always need them to replace unfurled ones). I probably have a few convergence units, and a box or 2 of NOS convergence wirewound pots someplace.
