I was surprised Motorola was still advertising the 19 inch color models considering that the other guys were making 21 inch models. There was no mention of upgrading their sets with the 21 inch kit.

Also, I thought the 21 inch Motorola 21CT2 was out in '56 as there was an advertisment for this model in the 1956 Life Magazine. I think it was during the May '56 edition...I have this May edition at home. I guess this means the 21CT2 was a 1957 model... not a '56.
Probably a late '55 catalog promoting the '56 Moto TV's. The 21" was in developement, so the only color tv Motorola had to offer was the 19". I guess some dealers may have offered perspective buyers the 21" conversion, but most went to 19" owners who required pix. tube replacments or major repairs. Some owners may have just wanted to update their 19" sets to the larger screens. I never read of a Motorola-dealer program offering to convert the 19" sets to 21". Because of a heavy advertising campaign, and a choice of models, Motorola did sell quite a few of the 19" inchers prior to the intro of the 21" color tube.
