Found a wax cap on the power switch that I had not noticed before. It is bad, dont have a replacement, but just ordered some caps. See if that is indeed the problem with the noise bars. Did some inspecting and continuity in the tuner circuit, nothing remarkable to report. This is my excuse for hanging out inside the house and ignoring the outside hot weather chores that I am putting off
