Ya know, I'm not into the idea of fishtank conversions. However, I kinda like what they did here. Yeah, go ahead and shoot me... I'm sure someone's hair just stood up on the back of their neck.
I'm not saying that i myself would have done this tv conversion, and I certainly don't encourage it, but I'm glad they did a TV instead of a fishtank!
Ya gotta remember- many people don't realize old radios and tv's can be repaired. When I talk to people about this hobby, they are stunned to learn I get parts... even new parts for these old sets. I'm sure most of you have had the same conversation with others. Anyway, people get these items and at least recognize the craftmanship in the cabinet. They don't want it to go to waste. Seriously now... can you blame 'em? They end up trying to do something with it, and while we've all seen some pretty bad hack jobs, now and then someone comes up with something good. I think this particular conversion is good.
However, as I pointed out, I myself wouldn't have done this.
