Doing it like the ancients did
It will still work at 20v or so but the volume is pretty low. 45v seem to be a good compromise for loudness and regeneration. Did try it at 135v but it made the regeneration hard to control. Hand capacity isn't a problem except for the fone cable. Was thinking of winding up some period like a old wooden thread spool with a few hundred turns of fine wire. I did try putting in a throttle cap from the 201 plate to ground which was 180mmfd and 120 mmfd Worked better with 180 than none and 120 was better than 180. Thinking around 90mmfd might be the best. Common ground is a good thing on regens I like to heavier gauge wire but I happen to have a bunch of this 22g handy. Doesn't seem to critical at the bc band doesn't seem to drift. I've built some that go up to 15 or 20mc there it's a different story.
