Found this comment on another forum about an earlier eBay listing.
"Heathkits are relatively common. Millions were made, but not all. There is one Heathkit that is so rare, you should have to pay admission JUST to see it.
It is the Heathkit K2 receiver, made in about 1948-1949. Unknown how many were sold, but very very few. The Heathkit AR-1 replaced it shortly, and was a more substantial receiver."

I think that if I had seen one in a box of junk at a swap meet, I would have passed it up also. Now that I know, that will not happen in the future!
