I have the same set in blonde. It's from 50 not 52 and I think it's a nice set. I fear he's fried his based on the lousy description.

Right P7 phosphor. That gives me a crazy idea. I have a bunch of military surplus electrostatic CRTs I got from Fair Radio Sales years ago. Some P1 (green), a couple huge 12FP7 (yellow) and a P31 (orange) I think. I bet with a little tinkering I can get them to work in a 7JP4 set
