Same on Navy Aircraft Carriers, only worse - the ship has it's own degaussing system (for magnetic mine protection) - when it fires off (automatically!) it leaves a wonderful rainbow! Forrest is now green and Bubba is now blue.....

I kept a manual degaussing coil in my desk for those very moments.
