It's always nice to find a set that will still work. From an electronics standpoint it's almost an impossibility, but it does happen. In my experience, when I have found something like that, it will not last long. Then you have the worry of burning up a part that is either expensive or unobtainable. So if you want to enjoy a sixty year old appliance, you really need to replace the paper and electrolytic capacitors and check the resistors. This has been said many times here but I think it's always a rule of thumb worth bringing up from time to time.
