That's a nice cabinet. Maybe a little Howards's Mahogany restore-a-finish would help on the dings ?

Check the resistance readings on the flyback windings. Do the voltages on the horizontal sweep and output tubes check out ? Have you tried adjusting the horizontal drive and lock controls ?
