Thanks! One speaker that I thought might work looks to only have a 7 or 8 ohm resistance on the field (not voice coil), I suspect it's just shorted. I'll turn up a perminant magnet speaker for now, before I go any further I'll test the picture tube and make sure I'm not putting money into something I can't get working
