Hello all,

The CTC 7 “Grenoble” is finally up and running. Due to the effort of several great folks an NOS flyback was located. Once installed and all adjustments made the picture is beautiful. I’m unable to get photos that do it justice. The color from the 21CYP22 is rich and full. Having the original operating manual is a real plus. The already nice original cabinet cleaned up beautifully. After the chassis was finished another challenge was found in the remote chassis in the form of two out of three open 5K relay coils. Slightly more modern replacements were found and after changing the springs and adjusting the contacts the four function remote now works just as it once did. As you might guess, we’ve come a long way in the remote department but it is fun to see the faces of guests when they see it in action.

I’d like to send a word of thanks to all the forum members who contributed suggestions toward the restoration of the set. It’s my first color set and I’m very happy with the final result. My desire to locate an early color set is due in part to the existence of this forum and its contributor’s experiences with their own sets. The fact that it is the same age as me just adds to the fun of owning it.
