That reminds me of something. I have a '76 9" Sylvania GTE B&W portable. I've seen similar sets under the Philco-Ford, Philco-GTE, and Philco-NAP brands. All of these were made in Taiwan and used a solid state stick HV rectifier; but, I know there were versions from the early '70's that used a tube HV rectifier. I also have a 12" Philco B&W from '84 that was made in Taiwan.
