Just picked it up. 12" Raytheon mahogany tabletop in super shape. Chassis is clean under the dust, cad plating still shines, unrestored and clean underneath, looks origional.
12LP4A is stamped Raytheon, looks origional to the set. A little sleepy on the emissions reading, but, I'll try to wake it up tomorrow.
Already took the chassis out of the cabinet, separated all the parts from the cabinet, and rubbed it out with some Howards. Good old Howards, it bounced back nicely. Cosmetic resto on this set will be a snap.
I could use a Sam's on it, if someone would be so kind, as well as some advice on what to watch out for on this chassis. It looks harmless enough.
The Speaker Cloth is fried on the set. Faded badly in the sun, no doubt. I took it off the cabinet, and the unexposed part shows it's a diamond pattern, just slightly under 3/4 x 7/16, dark reddish-brown diamonds with gold outline. It's the exact same cloth used on my 1950 Zenith 12" Porthole 2350G. Anybody have a line on replacement speaker cloth for it?
Thanks In Advance;
Lee
PS: Steve, aka Pielock373 over at ARF, visited my house today, and snapped pics of the Raytheon, along with my entire collection of TV's. You all should see it soon. Thanks, Steve!
