I recently saw a classified ad for a 49-1040 parts set. Only problem - local pickup much too far away. Luckily, the seller was nice enough to remove the channel plate plus tuner and ship them
They just arrived today.
The channel plate is a slightly different style, but it's in better condition. Also, much easier to spruce up because the lines and lettering are recessed. A little white paint rubbed in will do the trick.
Personally, I do like the original gold paint screened one, but I'll go with the donor one for now.
I don't know if the new tuner will work any better, but it certainly is cleaner. Also, I now have a complete set of channel plug-in modules - plus plenty of spares
I noticed the front modules (osc?) are all correct 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 but the rear modules are scrambled. I wonder if someone was playing games ?
Here channel 3 and 11 are mixed.
