Its easy to check the diode. There is a new 1n60p out that's a shottkey diode. These should last forever as they don't have tHe organic issue. I ordered some for testing. It can cause vertical lock issues not deflection. Best way I can describe a bad detector is the fine tuning is always off and uncorrectable
