It's good to be respectful of the dangers of high voltage, but don't let it frighten you out of fixing the TV. There are a lot of good books on the subject of TV servicing and a lot of people on these forums that I'm sure would be happy to help you safely perform the necessary work. The important thing is to learn all you can on the subject before making repairs.
