I detest commercials,not only are they moronic and obnoxious,and selling crap I have absolutely no interest in,but they hack the shows down to nothing to fit them in.
I also don't like the old shows having scenes deleted because they are "politically incorrect" such as with Sanford & Son episodes like "Fred Sanford,Legal Eagle" which contains his hilarious "Tarzan movie" remark in court,or "the piano movers" (don't even waste your time watching that one in syndication) as well many others.
For an example of what's been cut from Sanford & son go to google or YouTube and type in "fred on black crime"
DVDs are definetly the best way to go.
