Why wouldn't a TV work here (US)? Are you referring to the change of signal to digital? If so, I hate it myself because although you can use a VCR, DVD, or a digital receiver for old sets, I have more bad luck than good getting the same quality of play on channel 3 or 4 than I ever did on the old regular VHF channels. I have been pulling hair with my 1956 Philco that played faithfully for all these years, beyond even my own years, only to be reduced to VCR movies or even the digital converter that both bear what I would describe as a weak signal. There is noticeable "snow" in both audio and video and a reduced volume level. Actually, I am experiencing similar issues with two other sets that I have up and running at this time.
