I'm down to 6 from 8 (not counting a Seeburg HSC1)in the house and 4 or 5 out in my storage sheds out back. I sold 3 jukeboxes to Lloyd Thoburn of Coin Op Warehouse to pay some medical bills.
.2 of which I don't regret too much(A Mills Do Re Mi and a Wurlitzer 2510) Wasn't doing too much with them.
The one that brought the most $$$ and hurts the most.
was my prewar 1938 Wurlitzer 24A. Needed some veneer patches and refinishing(which I'm no expert in) but the sound was awesome.Lloyds son couldn't believe how good this old 78 jukebox sounded.I had the Astatic 51 lightweight tonearm conversion from Victory Glass on it.
Now when I want to hear my 78s I gotta go to the bedroom and load em' up manually on my Maggie console.There is a Wurlitzer 1400 in my junk room(spare bedroom) but she needs lots of tlc and cabinet restoration before she's a runner.
On that.How about things we couldn't buy because when they turned up we were short on funds? I'm still kicking myself for the Wurlitzer 1900 Centennial jukebox that showed up at a local consignment auction in 1994. I only had $200 to spend.
It sold for $500. They go for thousands on ebay these days.A super rough one that was local just sold for almost $2000 on ebay. I still have and don't regret buying my consolation prize a 1985 Rockola Supersound 2 jukebox. Got it for $200. Just a few dollars over budget when sales tax was added to it.Even though an 80s jukebox isn't worth squat on the collector market it is a nice sounding and pretty when lit up jukebox.
