Interesting. I have one Mitsubishi and two Sony running S video video that display resolution wedges at 400+ lines with no obvious luminance or chroma aliasing problems. Of course they all have digital comb-filters and stripe screen in-line CRTs. The CTC2B's 21FBP22A delta screen was not designed to display 400+ lines or was it? What is its screen pitch? The 21FBP22 spec sheet states: "Spacing between centers of adjacent dot trios is .029 inches". "Minimum horizontal screen width is 19.25 inches". This seems to imply the flat shadowmask has a maximum of 664 holes across one horizontal line. How many stripes does my modern Mitsu and Sony have to produce 400 line resolution with no aliasing?
Surely RCA in the early '50s ran direct camera RGB on their pro monitors using delta CRTs at resolutions approaching 400 lines? The results of these tests are probably contained in some confidential RCA Lab reports somewhere.
