Well, I understand what you are saying. So you are solely going to rely on the LP filtering from the source and not incorporate any bandwidth limitations in the monitor?
It would seem to me this may be a recipe for alias artifacts. Then again, I may be wrong. I would consider filtering at least to ITU R601 specifications eg approximately 5.5 MHz for luma and 2.75 MHz for chroma.
