The funny thing is it has the serial number sticker on the crt that matches the tv serial number. It the crt was replaced they would not more than likely of transferred it over to the new crt. The HOT is dated late 1956 also, I read that a lot of the CTC-5's sold well into 1957 as left over 56 models. The cabinet model is definitely 1956 but maybe this was built in 1957. Who knows. This may just an oddball set thrown together with the parts they had including the new 21cyp22 that was out in the CTC-7 or it was a replacement very very early on still under warranty. It does not make much difference to me as long as I get it to work. We will never know the truth about this set
