Word to the wise: Take VERY detailed, closeup pictures of the bottom of that radio chassis from as many angles as possible before you begin work on it. Lead dress, lead position, as well as the position of many of the components relative to each other and the chassis itself is critical! Be careful when working with or around L9, the FM oscillator coil. It's a small, hollow tubular coil, with an enameled copper wire for the oscillator filament running through the middle of it. Very easy to cause a break in the enamel and cause a short to the outer copper tube.
John Folsom and I both agree that this is one of the most cantankerous and confounding radio's one will ever encounter!
