Update

Initially I was interested in this set to use it for parts for a similar set,I did not
know it had a blond cabinet until I took delivery. So now I have 2 sets to restore instead of just 1
The blond cabinet looked as if it had been sitting in water for 50 years,so I
figured it would be my first attempt at cabinet repair, after all,how much more
damage could I do?I first had to glue and clamp it together to make it
structurally sound, after that I glued the layers of delaminated wood together.
Lastly I reglued the peeling veneer (what was left) I pieced in non matching
veneer from a Philco cabinet that I had scrapped(as seen on the top right)
The inside edges of the fascia moulding were missing veneer so I filled them with wood
filler, and then painted over the wood filler. So far I stained the face and the top,the sides need alot of veneer and sanding.
Remember, this is my first attempt,if this were a pre-war or some other
uber rare set,I would have a pro do it.
