All those people who bought his stuff fooled themselves into believing BECAUSE they had spent the money and subconsciously (or maybe not so subconsciously) didn't want to appear to be fools. Same people spend hundreds on wooden control knobs, AC receptacles, and thingies to elevate their speaker cables off the floor.
