That includes the 2 meter ham radio band, 144 to 148MHz. Mostly narrow band FM comms.
If the TV set used intercarrier for the sound, you wouldn't be able to tune in FM radio stations all that well. Oh, if two stations were 4.5MHz apart, you'd get some garbled mix of the two stations.
If the tuner was truely continious between 6 and 7, today it would be "cable ready"
