I had one of those sets many moons ago but without the cabinet. The speaker looked just like this..

The cone was paper and
very stiff compliance, yet it put out terrific volume but shy on bass, so it probably would have had stronger bass in the cabinet.
BTW, all the rubber insulation in that power supply cable was rotted, and that was in the '50s.
